Gabrielle Hawkins is an award-winning filmmaker based in New York. She graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.A. in Film Production and a Certificate of Completion in Producing from The Met Film School in London. She started her professional film career working on music videos as a production assistant. Continuing her journey, she freelanced as an assistant director on short films leading her to work on her first independent feature film called Alto. Determined to highlight work not often shown in mainstream media she started a small production company called Aliké Words Productions. Through her company, she wrote, directed, and produced an award-winning short film called Criminals. It had its LA Premiere as part of the Indie Night Film Festival at the world famous TCL Chinese Theatre. It was also part of the Plan A: A Journey with a Destination festival, which was screened at the WACO (Where Art Can Occur) Theater Center. In 2020, Gabrielle created a website called Crown Heights Queen which focuses on conscious consumerism highlighting over 200 diverse brands. She continues to work on projects as a writer, director, and producer.
